The Griffon is the pinnacle of endgame content offered in Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire, the mount that everyone will be striving to acquire once everything else has been accomplished. Mounts are one of the core new additions that the Path of Fire expansion is highlighting the most. If you haven’t already checked out our mount guide for the other four ones, you can find that here.
We recommend checking it out, because you have to have the Path of Fire story completely finished and all of the other four mounts before attempting to get the Griffon. You may be wondering what’s so great about this mount, and that’s because it is the only one in Path of Fire that allows you to fly almost anywhere across the world quickly.
Here is our first section to completing this lengthy endeavor, in case you missed it:
Path of Fire – Desert Highlands Griffon Guide
- Teleport to Diviner’s Reach
- Begin pre-event escort mission given by Second Spear Nayrim in Diviner’s Reach
- Escort and complete the defense mission by Kanuz Cache
- May have to wait about 20 minutes after completion for her to move
- Will reward you with Zaklem, the Rune of Loyalty upon completion
- Teleport to Lifeblood Ravine and speak with heart vendor Groffmok
- Purchase Enormous Supply of Bird Feed from him for 25 gold
- Return to Diviner’s Reach and purchase Survival Supplies for 25 gold from heart vendor Tendaji
- Travel to Brightwater Inlet and travel north of it to cliffs
- Find the Jackal portal and use it to get to top
- Collect Warmed Mountain Griffon Egg from Griffon Roost
- Use Griffon Roost to fly to Godfell Towers
- Collect egg on top of one of the towers
- Travel to High Jump Ranch and go just southwest to directly north of Windshear Scarps
- Use Springer to jump on top of the platform above
- Collect Rough Mountain Egg
- Go back to High Jump Ranch and travel southeast of it to the beginning of rock cliffs south of Auburn Hills
- Use Springer to reach the top of the cliffs where hostile Griffons are
- Collect Vibrant Mountain Egg from the nest there
- Teleport to Derelict Delve Waypoint
- Go to southern edge of mountains where “To Kill a God” quest is located
- Glide down the mountainside there to nest and collect Damp Mountain Egg
Path of Fire – Elon Riverlands
- Travel to Deadhouse in the southeast corner of the map
- Complete the Warden Jabari group event chain near there to collect Limwe Rune of Justice as a reward
- Travel to northwest corner of map and speak with Master Sergeant Shadi to start her quest
- For Shadi’s sword, walk to nearby corner northeast of her and kill Veteran Water Djinn to collect it
- Travel northeast of Ustulate Barrens to the Branded Cave and interact with pile of equipment to receive Shadi’s helm
- Go just southeast of Skimshallow Cove on map and up the large rock pillar
- Interact with Pile of Leaves to collect Shadi’s gloves
- Go to the Scavengelands and speak with Veteran Chikkak
- Fight him to gain Shadi’s boots
- Teleport to Skimmer’s Ranch and travel to the northeast quicksand
- Enter small cave there and go to the back to interact with the Hermit’s chest to collect her armor
- Return to Shadi to collect achievement that grants Golsah, the Rune of Honor
- Travel to Shallows of Despair and go west to land in the southwest corner of the map
- Complete Champion Unbound Djinn group event to collect Giwebo, the Rune of Humility
- Go to north of Ustulate Barrens and purchase Relic Preservation Materials from heart vendor Follower Xunn for 25 gold
- Teleport to Olishar’s Oasis Camp Waypoint and travel due east to heart vendor Ebele and purchase the Map to the Outpost for 25 gold
- Go west of Oasis Camp Waypoint to a huge, tall rock
- Springer up the rock to collect Warmed Riparian Griffon Egg from the nest
- Teleport to Skimmer Ranch and go southeast of it to some tall pillars
- Springer up a pillar to find the nest and collect the Rocky Riparian Egg
- Use Griffon Roost to fly to Arid Gladefields
- Azure Riparian Egg is in the nest on top of the tower just below the Vista
