The Agent of Nine is back on July 20 and this week could be the best set of gear yet for hardy adventurers who are willing to find him and seek out his wares. Destiny 2 Where is Xur?: Xur Location (July 20)
Xur is on Io this week, specifically in a small cave by the Giant’s Scar landing zone. Once you land, go through the building’s opening ahead of you and go out and through the walkway. Follow the path round to the left and, after about 20 seconds, you will see an ominous dark cave on your left. Check your map if you need to catch your bearings.

Judging by his mysterious nature you may think Xur appears at random in Destiny 2 but his start and end time work just like clockwork. The Agent of the Nine shows up every single Friday at 10 a.m. Pacific/1 p.m. EDT/6 p.m. BST on the date. If you’ve got 97 Legendary Shards handy, you’ll be able to purchase a Fated Engram, which gives you one of Destiny 2‘s previous Exotics, should you have missed out on a Nightfall Strike, or another event. Sure, it’s pricey and you’re at the mercy of the RNG gods but it’s tempting nonetheless.
For those who want to do an Exotics rush a la Supermarket Sweep then buy the Three of Coins item for 31 Legendary Shards. That’ll give you a four-hour boost in drop rate for all Exotics.
Destiny 2 Where is Xur?: Xur Location (July 13)
This week, Xur can be found hanging around the back of the hangar on The Tower. You’ll have to enter the room, turn left and go up the flight of stairs at the northwest corner of the room. If you’re having trouble finding him, pause the game to bring up your map and look for the IX icon.
Destiny 2 When Does Xur Appear?: Xur Start and End Time (July 13)
As always, since Bungie shifted the Xur start time at the beginning of 2018, the Agent of the Nine will appear at 10 a.m. Pacific/1 p.m. EDT/6 p.m. BST every single Friday from now until, presumably, the heat death of the universe. Or whenever Bungie changes its mind, whichever is sooner.
After that, the Xur end time will commence at the exact same time as the Destiny 2 weekly reset on July 17 at 10 a.m. Pacific/1 p.m. EDT/6 p.m. BST. He’ll then return next Friday, like clockwork.

As is the case every week, Xur is also selling Fated Engrams, which will give you an Exotic you haven’t yet received for a whopping 97 Legendary Shards. You may wince at the price, but it could be the difference between picking up a previously-missing Exotic or losing out on it forever.
There’s also the Three of Coins (31 Legendary Shards) which will increase your Exotic drop rate for the next four hours in-game. Perfect for that Strange Terrain Nightfall Reward.

There are only a few constants in life: death, taxes, and Xur having the same start and end time on Destiny 2 every week. 10 a.m. Pacific/1 p.m. EDT/6 p.m. BST every Friday will see Xur rear his hooded head. Then, every Tuesday (in this case, July 10), the Destiny 2 weekly reset will commence at exactly the same time and will see Xur leave the game, until returning again on the Friday with brand-new stock. It’s like clockwork.
