Call of Duty Warzone Dead Silence

Call of Duty: Warzone Dead Silence | How to get quiet footsteps

If you’re currently getting to grips with Activision and Infinity Ward’s new CoD: Warzone, then you might’ve noticed that — unlike in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) — you can’t earn Field Upgrades in the conventional fashion. How are some players able to make use of them, then? Since having the Call of Duty: Warzone Dead Silence Field Upgrade active is a pretty big advantage, we’ve put together a guide to let you know how to get silent footsteps in battle royale mode.

How to get the Call of Duty: Warzone Dead Silence Field Upgrade

Call of Duty Warzone Dead Silence

When playing Modern Warfare Warzone you’ll immediately notice that there are loads of crates containing loot strewn across the enormous 150-player battle royale map. Their contents are completely randomized and in addition to common pickups like weapons, gadgets, and ammunition there’s a rare chance for them to contain Field Upgrades. Naturally, one of the available Field Upgrades is Dead Silence.

For demonstrational purposes, in the above image, you can see what discovering a Field Upgrade looks like in-game. They only work for a limited time, just like in the main Modern Warfare multiplayer suite, though do not recharge in Warzone. Due to this, you’ll want to make good use of them while you can.

Field Upgrades can also be purchased by using in-game Cash earned through gameplay at designated Buy Stations. These are indicated by a shopping cart icon on the mini-map and can be high-traffic areas, so be careful.

If Dead Silence is a staple of your Call of Duty: Modern Warfare loadouts, then getting used to its absence might take some time. Try to remain aware of the extra noise you make, though also check every crate you can in order to stand a better chance of silencing your footsteps and temporarily becoming every camper’s nightmare.
