While our real world might start and finish its days at the stroke of midnight, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons day reset time is quite different. So if you’re currently waiting for the new day to begin, wondering if you should stay up until midnight, I’ve got some pretty bad news for you. Thankfully, once you know when the day changes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you’ll be able to plan accordingly. Here’s what you need to know.
When does the day change in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
5 A.M. is when the day changes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. As soon as the hour ticks over, the game will move over to the next day.
It might seem like a bizarre time to start a new day, as we in the real world are used to a day ending at 23:59 with next the day beginning at 00:00. However, it’s likely that the island population instead count sunrise as the start of a new day. When sunrise begins, so does the new day!
If you need to wait until “tomorrow” for any projects to be completed, rest assured that once the time has moved past 5 A.M., it will then count as tomorrow. This means that you can provide materials for a building at 4:45 A.M. and then have the building fully made at 5 A.M.
If you’re waiting for midnight to check on the progress of buildings and to see if plants have grown, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait for five more hours!
