PSVR 2 Too Expensive: Why Is the New PlayStation VR Price So High?

The PSVR 2 is so expensive because of the new hardware it contains. The tech inside goes far beyond what was achieved in the original PlayStation VR, so Sony has seemingly been forced to set a higher price for the new model.

Will the PSVR 2 price go down?

The PSVR 2 price is likely to go down at some point. However, for the foreseeable future, as the device is only just launching and is expected to remain at its launch price for months to come, those hoping for a discount may have a long wait ahead of them.

The best estimate for when the PSVR 2 price will decrease is during the holiday season in 2023. With that said, it’s likely that there will be game bundles offered as incentives, rather than a discount on the PSVR 2 hardware itself.

As seen with the PS5, it’s actually possible for prices to go up.

Hopefully the PSVR 2 eventually becomes accessible to everyone that wants to use it. While many of the launch titles seem cool, the price of entry seems too much for many.
