Overwatch Uprising returns April 10th

Overwatch Uprising Event and Kings Row Map Will Return in April

For Overwatch fans, Christmas has just come really, really early. It was confirmed on the official Overwatch Twitter (and via Blizzard PR) that Overwatch Uprising will return April 10, bringing a new vital piece of lore for fans to ponder, analyze, overanalyze and then analyze again. Last year’s Overwatch Uprising was a big hit with fans, boasting a popular co-op brawl that transported players back in time where the face of Blizzard’s well-loved game, rookie Lena Oxton (Tracer), had just joined Overwatch and teamed up with veterans Mercy, Reinhardt, and Torbjorn.

Blizzard has confirmed that this event will return, giving players a chance to play it in case they missed out on the mission (as well as skins) during its first debut. Below you’ll see the announcement made by the game’s twitter, along with a few hints on what could await fans next month.

Did you see anything interesting in the tweet? You’ll be excused if you missed it, but pausing at 0:13 will reveal a rather telling glitch about when this event may take place. The first uprising (which took place at Kings Row) occurred seven years ago with a file number of 00383, yet this file is 00274 and the glitch changes the years to eight instead of seven.

So what is this new, mysterious event? We don’t rightly know, however considering that there is a chance that the event will take place before the very first uprising it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to speculate that it could be based around something that leads up to the Kings Row Uprising.

Most importantly, we wonder what new cosmetics Blizzard will give us during this new event. Last year there was Talon Widowmaker, Blackwatch Genji, and McCree as well as Overwatch cadet skins. Until April 10, however, all we can do is wait and speculate with excitement.
