Divinity Fallen Heroes

Divinity Fallen Heroes announced by Larian Studios and Logic Artists

Divinity Fallen Heroes is a new spinoff tactics game from Larian Studios and Logic Artists. The game was announced with a new trailer and Kickstarter update for Divinity: Original Sin 2, Larian’s 2017 CRPG. It is expected later this year on multiple platforms.

Divinity Fallen Heroes has players command The Lady Vengeance puts players in the shoes of Original Sin 2‘s main cast, alongside the demon Malady. They travel through Rivellon fighting — and making new — enemies over the course of the game. Larian said the game is one it has “wanted to make for a long time.” The studio described it as a mix of the Original Sin games’ tactical turn-based combat with Divinity: Dragon Commander‘s decision-making elements.

Larian teamed up with the Danish studio Logic Artists to bring the game to life and began development last year. Logic Artists was given the Original Sin 2 engine and asked to “develop a game in which your narrative choices affect which missions you play.” Divinity Fallen Heroes is the result of the partnership.

Players will be able to recruit troops, research gear, and level up heroes aboard their ship between missions. Guns are being introduced, and all the turn-based tactical action of Divinity: Original Sin 2 is still in the game. Fallen Heroes also supports cooperative play.

Larian and Logic Artists will be showing Divinity Fallen Heroes at PAX East this weekend. The developers are looking to collect feedback on an early version of the game to make the full release as good as it can be. While no specific platforms have been announced both Original Sin games came to PC, PS4, and Xbox One over their lifetime.

Swen Vincke founded Larian Studios in 1996 in Ghent, Belgium. The independent studio released Divine Divinity in 2002, which was the first game in the Divinity series. Divinity: Original Sin and Original Sin 2 released in 2014 and 2017 respectively, to critical and commercial success. Logic Artists is a Danish independent developer behind the Expeditions titles.
