Doom Eternal x FF7 crossover Slayer

Doom Eternal x FF7 crossover is a weird fandom mashup

DOOM Eternal x FF7 crossover is one of the strangest things we’ve seen today. Whoever’s running the social media for DOOM Eternal apparently can’t resist giving shoutouts to other big game releases, and this time they’ve given a nod to the Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

The tweet posted earlier today shows the Slayer holding the “Crucible”, a demonic energy sword that is well-suited to ripping and tearing any demons in your way. The image is set up as nod to the cover of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake (and indeed, the game’s original cover) which shows Cloud Strife facing Midgar with his Buster Sword over his back.

This isn’t the first time the DOOM Eternal Twitter has given another game a shoutout; a tweet from last month inspired a ton of DOOM Eternal Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan art, some of which was downright hilarious.

It remains to be seen if today’s DOOM Eternal FF7 crossover tweet will have the same impact on social media. Either way, it sure does look cool!
