A renowned leaker has managed to get rumors flying around again after a cryptic teaser saw many suggest a new Dune game is about to be revealed. Other suggestions include the rumored Xbox-exclusive Mandalorian game as well as Destiny 3, but while we don’t know exactly what the tease is for, we do know it isn’t for Funcom’s recently released Dune: Spice Wars.

The Snitch has managed to garner quite a reputation for his pinpoint accuracy with his leaks, although he deliberately keeps them cryptic to avoid any being subjected to a DMCA takedown. His latest is no different, although players have managed to work out the image is taken from the artwork for the Dune movie released back in October 2021. Those wondering about the hair on the character might have seen it is the same haircut that has been photoshopped from The Snitch’s profile picture. We’re not sure if there is any significance to this or not, but most agree the Tweet seems to be teasing a new Dune game to be revealed soon, although the Mandalorian and Destiny 3 have also been mentioned.
We do know the new cryptic teaser is not referencing Dune: Spice Wars, Shiro Games’ 4X real-time strategy game that was released into early access on Steam in April, as The Snitch has denied this is the case. It is most likely to be referencing Funcom’s upcoming multiplayer open-world survival game set in the Dune universe of Arrakis. Very little is known about this game except that it is targeting next-gen consoles (and likely PC). Funcom is heading to Gamescom at the end of the month, but hopefully, more will be revealed sooner than that.
