Pokemon Go Psychic Event Start Time

The Pokemon Go Psychic event start time has been revealed. The Psychic Spectacular event will be the latest event to come to Niantic’s popular mobile game. For those who haven’t yet heard of Psychic Spectacular, it launches today, October 5, at the following times:

  • 1 PM PDT
  • 4 PM ET
  • 8 PM BST.

Pokemon Go players will have received an in-game notification at this stage to notify them of the upcoming event, although the details provided by said notification are a little ambiguous. However, the image attached to the notification features the Psychic-type Pokemon Slowbro, Drowzee, Abra, Spoink, and Claydol. It is likely that these Pokemon in particular will be included in the event.

Despite the lackluster notification details, the Pokemon Go blog has listed the features of the event as follows:

  • Psychic-type Pokémon will appear in the wild more frequently.
  • Additional Field Research focusing on Psychic-type Pokémon will be available.
  • Shiny Drowzee has a chance to appear.

Drowzee is the latest Pokemon to have gotten a Shiny version in-game, and will join Krabby as an up-for-grabs Shiny for the next week and a half. For a full list of Pokemon Go Shiny Pokemon, as well as the odds of encountering a Shiny, click here.

It is likely that the Psychic Spectacular event is serving as a parallel to the surge in Ghost-type Pokemon that players can encounter in the wild throughout the month of October. Ghost-type Pokemon typically become far more active in the wild the closer we get to Halloween, so perhaps the Psychic Spectacular event will be a way of allowing players to get Psychic-types during the first half of the month. This way, they’ll be more capable of taking down strong Ghost-type Raid Bosses who may replace Mewtwo after it finishes its Tier 5 rotation on October 23. Until then, you can visit our Mewtwo counters guide in order to find out the best ways to take on the powerful Raid Boss.

The event is set to run until October 14 at the following times:

  • 1 PM PDT
  • 4 PM ET
  • 8 PM BST.
