Today’s Pokemon Presents live stream finally made the anticipated Gen IV remakes official. Pokemon Shining Perl and Brilliant Diamond are coming to the Nintendo Switch, allowing players to revisit the popular Sinnoh region. Although there isn’t an exact Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl release date, for now, Nintendo did share a 2021 release window.
When is the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl release date?
Originally released on Nintendo DS back in 2006, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl will make a comeback later this year. Rumors of a remake began circulating earlier this week, and, fortunately, fans didn’t misplace their excitement on this occasion.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will launch simultaneously in “late 2021.” No exact release day has been announced, though, if past precedent is any indication, the launch window may indicate a November 2021 release date. The last five mainline Pokemon series entries have launched in the month of November.
Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond are “faithful remakes” that the development team behind Pokemon Home is working on. Despite being on Nintendo Switch, both games maintain the look of the original DS game. The visuals have received a significant upgrade, though exploration still takes place from an isometric perspective with chibi-style character models. Obviously, that stands in contrast to the updated art style of Pokemon Sword and Shield.
The Friday, February 26, 2021, Pokemon Presents stream (below) also featured information on New Pokemon Snap. Perhaps more exciting, however, was the reveal of Pokemon Legends Arceus. It’s an all-new entry in the Pokemon series, which is due to release sometime after the Generation 4 remakes.
The Pokemon celebrations don’t stop there, though. Tomorrow is Pokemon Day and Nintendo will be streaming the Pokemon x Post Malone virtual concert.
In other Pokemon 25th anniversary news, several limited-edition card packs are coming out during 2021 (starting next week).
